Colors of Tuscany

When planning the project for our retreats, Jill and I get to pick yarn. She selected a nice summery blend from Zitron, one of our favorite yarn companies because he is very eco-conscious. Jill had the brilliant idea of selecting pics from our Tuscany collection and choosing yarn colorways from that. I made the collage of her pics. It's so summery and colorful. Now to pick a colorway. . .I like them all so much!

If you haven't signed up yet and Tuscany is calling, check out details. We still have a few spaces left.

Knitted Animals

Some of us at Y2Knit are knitting Safari Friends to fill a tote for the Breast Cancer Awareness Purse Auction on May 2. We think this will be a winner. Pictured are a couple of zebra, an elephant and monkey. Missing for this pic are Gertie Giraffe and Brother Monkey. We hope to have more! If you are interested in the pattern, give me a jingle.

I took the basic structure and created a First Bunny for my youngest grandson who will be 8 months old when he gets it on April 4.

Trunk Show Report

Great attendance, great food, unbelievably beautiful yarn from Schaefer Yarn and Red Barn Yarn (pictured). I had a great time and I think everyone else did as well based on feedback I've received.

We'll have to do this more often! Tina and I are already planning our next one for the fall.

For those who didn't make it, a trunk show is a special showing of yarns we don't usually carry in the shop. The yarn is for sale, but it's fine to just enjoy checking it out.

I bought some of what didn't sell to keep in the shop, so stop by to check it out!

Heirloom Knitting

Every once in a while someone contacts me about unfinished projects left by a deceased person. My most recent encounter of this kind necessitated the completion of three baby blankets. This kind of project is rewarding in that the projects are useless unfinished and by finishing them, the intended can enjoy them. I enjoyed knitting the border (I had to do about 40% of it--way more than I initially estimated) and I think the finished product is one that will be treasured.
